The cajón’s structure is crafted from premium 10.5 mm thick sycamore plywood (Platanus Hispanica), which delivers superior sound performance compared to traditional birch. This Spanish-grown wood features beautiful grain patterns similar to birch but with a warmer, toasted tone. It comes from certified Spanish plantations with denomination of origin.
The birch front plate is finely calibrated to 3.2 mm and finished in natural color with several layers of satin varnish. The upper front corners are ergonomically shaped for increased playing comfort. The Katho Percusión logo is silk-screen printed for a professional touch.
It includes four parallel strings with a classic fine-tuning system using tension knobs. As a new feature, this model incorporates Katho’s exclusive anti-harmonic muting system, enhancing the sound clarity.
